Thanks for the invitation to post, Marcus, and for suggesting what I might writing about first!  I’ll write here about websites worth considering,  beginning with the CNDLS site at Georgetown, an operation led by a professor of American Studies, Randy Bass.

To understand this project, consider:  First, the stunning graphics and aggressive marketing reflects both this Jesuit university’s strong commitment to education and the highly competitive U.S. educational context. Second, how such universities are intensely social places and where pluralism is the ruling ideology; hence, the project gallery suggesting the blooming of 1,000 flowers. Third, and this is what I like best of all, their use of the Carnegie Foundation’s Poster Tool — a simple templating system, with prompts, that help students and faculty create one-page outlines, posters, about their academic or professional work and a fast way of publishing it on the web — to render their work transparent. Ich versuche gerade, Ungarisch zu lernen! Möchte gerne mal Budapest besuchen – und die Vorstellung, die Landessprache nicht wenigstens bruchstückhaft zu kennen, gefällt mir nicht. Über ein sehr schönes Blog zum Ungarisch-Lernen bin ich auf eine eLearning-Ressource gestoßen:

Ein ehemaliges EU Projekt namens Stella – das Europäische Sprachennetz. Angeboten werden Spanisch, Dänisch, Englisch, Ungarisch (das ist ja auch mal eine eklektische Auswahl!). Viele Materialien (das Ganze: Demo umsonst, Vollversion cheap), vor allem Audio, was bei den besseren (Selbstlern-)Sprachkursen, wie Assimil, immer ins Portemonnaie haut. Try it!

And as a bonus, here is an virtual entry into the National Bank of Hungary, Magyar Nemzeti Bank where you can print your own money, or so they say.

Der beste Selbstlern-Sprachkurs, den ich übrigens kenne und selber (per CD) getestet habe, ist von Michel Thomas – gibt es für verschiedene Sprachen – leider nur jeweils auf Englisch.

Ach ja, und die Überschrift, die bedeutet: “In der ungarischen Sprache gibt es viele lange und komplizierte Wörter.”

Bin auf sofatutor aufmerksam geworden – habe mich auch gleich registriert – gleich auf der Frontpage gibt’s einen gut gemachten video: das Portal dient der Organisation von Lerngruppen (das machen unsere Studis vermutlich vorwiegend per StudiVZ?), es gibt aber auch einen Tutor-Service (“Squad”) – die Tutoren sind durchweg zumindest attraktiv Die Tutorials sind cleverweise als videos verpackt – ich hab mir einen angeguckt, der war gut.

Nach Roger C. Schank, der sehr gute Bücher über E-Learning geschrieben hat, sind Videos zentral für gutes E-Learning. Video-Tutorials sind ein wichtiger Teil der Corporate E-Learning Systeme, die er in den vergangenen 10 Jahren für viele große Konzerne geschaffen hat.

Funktioniert Sofatutor? Weiß ich nicht – ich fand (noch) keine Erfahrungsberichte. Vielleicht könnt Ihr das mal checken, z.B. eine Frage stellen?
