netvibes

netvibes is a social media tool, which you can use to create a private and a public portal of your networking activities. When you create your own netvibes page, you can add so-called feeds from various other social networking tools (like del.icio.us or digg or twitter or your blogs) or from publishing sources (like electronic newspapers) to it. You can export these sources to your public page, which everybody can see.

More details are in the FAQ and on the netvibes welcome page, which is also a good example for how your own personal netvibes page might look.

We use netvibes to gather all our blogs and tweets – this is something that I learnt from Bruce Spear who first, in 2008, established the FHWnightfighter on netvibes for his course on business english at our school.

There are many tools like this. What do you think makes them so attractive to the netizens of the world?
