Teamwork

Excerpt from the term paper of a student (Sheila Stockbridge) with some teamwork tips ‘n traps:

As part of this project I learnt a lot about teamwork [...]. It has not always been easy to work in a group depending on [so many] members. In order to achieve a good work result, all members need to be constructive, flexible, interacting and they need to listen.

We often had the problem that during our team meetings the conversations were very muddled. So [...] we laid down rules so that we would use the [...] available time more constructively. Another problem was that not every member adhered to the deadlines. [And] there were some conflicts arising inside the team.

So what I learnt through this project is that if you work in a team of more than three members you definitely need to set rules and work goals in order to achieve a good group result. The members should be interested in the topic and you need to talk about issues before team conflicts arise. You should have different characters to balance strengths and weaknesses. [...]

If you choose to work with a team you should be open for changes and try to accept and like ideas of other people. You should realise that as a team member you have a responsibility towards the whole team.
